How to Automate Dashboard in JIRA?

To create an automated dashboard in Jira, you can follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Jira account and navigate to the Dashboard section.
  2. Click on "Create dashboard" and give it a name.
  3. Choose the layout that you want for your dashboard and click on "Create."
  4. Now you can start adding gadgets to your dashboard. Gadgets are the building blocks of your dashboard, and they can display various types of information such as charts, tables, lists, etc.
  5. To add a gadget, click on "Add gadget" and select the type of gadget that you want to add.
  6. Configure the gadget by selecting the project, filter, or other parameters that you want to display in the gadget.
  7. Repeat the process to add more gadgets to your dashboard.
  8. You can rearrange the gadgets by dragging and dropping them into the desired position.
  9. Once you have added all the gadgets that you want to include, click on "Save" to save your dashboard.

To automate your dashboard, you can use Jira automation rules. These rules allow you to perform actions automatically based on certain triggers. For example, you can set up a rule to automatically update a gadget when a new issue is created, or to send you an email notification when a certain condition is met.

To set up an automation rule, follow these steps:

  1. Click on "Settings" and select "System."
  2. Click on "Automation" and select "Create rule."
  3. Choose the trigger for your rule, such as "Issue created," "Issue updated," or "Scheduled."
  4. Configure the conditions and actions for your rule. For example, you can set up a condition to check if a certain field has a specific value, and an action to update a gadget with the results of a JQL query.
  5. Save your rule.

By combining these two features, you can create a powerful automated dashboard that displays real-time information and updates automatically based on your Jira projects.
